It's very likely if I had played this one for the first time today (sans nostalgia), it might be lower on my list.

Ship fighting is janky and uninspired, although the cannon upgrade system is a good 'explanation' for having to fight repeatedly beyond just learning all the insults. Rhyme sword fighting was a fun twist on the insult sword fighting, although clearly derivative rather than innovative. Love the art style, the music, the puzzles, the voice acting.
